Choosing the right truck driving school is one of the most important decisions when starting a professional trucking career. With many training options available, students across Ontario and Alberta consistently choose Trukademy for their Class 1 / AZ licence training.

From expert instructors and real-world driving experience to job-focused training and flexible schedules, Trukademy stands out as a trusted name in commercial driver education. Here are the top reasons students prefer Trukademy for Class 1 / AZ training.

1. Certified & Experienced Instructors

At Trukademy, students are trained by fully certified, highly experienced instructors who understand both testing requirements and real-world trucking conditions.

Our instructors focus on:

  • One-on-one guidance
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Confidence-building behind the wheel
  • Real test-route practice

Students receive personal attention, ensuring they are fully prepared for the road test and professional driving.

2. Mandatory MELT Program Included

We provides complete Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) as required by provincial regulations.

The MELT program includes:

  • Classroom theory & regulations
  • Yard training (pre-trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling)
  • On-road city and highway driving

This structured training ensures students meet all licensing requirements and gain essential safety knowledge.

3. Air Brake (Z-Endorsement) Training Provided

To operate Class 1 / AZ vehicles, drivers must hold a Z-Endorsement.

Trukademy includes Air Brake training as part of the program, covering:

  • Air brake systems and components
  • Brake inspections
  • Practical testing preparation

This allows students to complete all licensing requirements in one place.

4. Real-World Driving Experience

Unlike schools that focus only on passing the test, Trukademy trains students for real trucking jobs.

Students gain experience in:

  • Highway and city driving
  • Busy traffic conditions
  • Industrial and warehouse routes
  • Yard maneuvering and backing

This hands-on approach helps graduates transition smoothly into professional driving roles.

5. Modern Trucks & Training Equipment

Trukademy uses well-maintained, modern trucks and trailers to ensure students train on industry-standard equipment.

Training on updated vehicles helps students:

  • Build confidence
  • Learn current technology
  • Feel comfortable during road tests and job placement

6. Flexible Training Schedules

Trukademy understands that many students are working professionals or newcomers adjusting to a new routine.

We offer:

  • Weekday and weekend classes
